Suffering from Remittent Fever and Chronic Dysentery, and from being a stout and Corpulent man he soon became Emaciated and labored under every form of Disease. Representations were made to the Local Government regarding his almost dying State, and I think it was necessary as a matter of humanity, to liberate him, otherwise he soon would have died in Prison. I should add that from his appearance when pardoned, and also from enquiries made, I have no doubt that death soon put an end to all his sufferings.
